Crescendo Community Choir

Crescendo Community Choir will be recommencing from Monday 13th July, 2020

Crescendo Community Choir was formed on 3rd February 2020.  New members welcome.

Where: Roma Church of Christ – 119 Currey Street

When: Mondays – Arrive 5.20 am – Start 5.30 pm – Finish: 6.30 pm

What: We will be singing inspirational and uplifting songs from a wide range of genres and styles of music including Faith based Jazz, Stage and Screen, Folk, Pop etc.  We will be drawing on our choir members’ musical talents and abilities to alternate musicians and conductors – so that everyone gets a chance to sing.

Who: Anyone who would like to sing.   Children 7 to 17 years are welcome but must attend with a parent/caregiver who is in the choir.

Cost: Will be $30 for adults and $10 for children (7 to 17 years) per year.  (1/7 to 30/6)

Please bring a water bottle, a folder for music, a pencil and a notebook (or phone) to take notes and a smile.

Mainly MusicMainly Music is a fun music session for families with young children to enjoy together and for children to grow developmentally.

New Hope Community Services – Ready for Work Training

New Hope Community Services

 

Life Christian Church Roma is hosting a “Ready for work training” This course is for anyone 15-24 struggling to find work or  just starting in the work force.

This is a FREE 12 day course, spread over 4 weeks (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) at our training facilities at 27 Hawthorne St Roma (old Maranoa club). There is absolutely no cost to participants for attending this course, as it is completely funded through the State Governments ‘Skilling Queenslanders For Work’ program. This program delivers job preparation and employment skills, with the outcome to help participants apply for and successfully find employment.

During this course, you will obtain:
-A First Aid Certificate
– Resume writing skills
– Job application skills
– Interview skills
– Various workplace training, as well as computer training if required.

Currently, attending the course also comes with a $10,000 incentive, paid to eligible employers who hire you after the training into an apprenticeship or traineeship (courtesy of the Queensland State Governments ‘Skilling Queenslanders for Work’ program) – making you very attractive to potential employers!

Start date: 5TH June
Time: 9am till 2.30pm (Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays)
Location: 27 Hawthorne St (old Maranoa Club)
What to bring: Lunch (fridge available) and pen, plus your own tablet or laptop if you would like (not mandatory)
