Act for Kids

Act for Kids intensive Family Support program is a free service that helps families under pressure.

We can assist with many issues which some are:

  • Addressing issues such as domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse.
  • Developing stronger life skills such as setting routines, budgets and managing the household
  • Parenting support and strategies to build positive family relationships
  • Managing stress to copy with daily pressures
  • Providing child health and well-being resources
  • Linking into services that support your child development
  • Connecting you with local services, playgroups and other social networks
  • Supporting families with their cultural needs

Event 171130: Maranoa Regional Council – Flexible Financial Hardship Support

Flexible Financial Hardship Support funding of up to $500 per household is available for drought affected community members.  Residents are encouraged to apply by submitting the form and providing supporting documentation as required.
Note: a copy of a rates notice is required to confirm residency in the Maranoa local government region.

(Until funding allocation exhausted or 30/11/17)

There are two options for receiving the assistance:

Option 1: $500 in $50 vouchers to be used at selected stores in the Maranoa region

Option 2: Financial assistance up to $500 with a specific bill/account (bill to be provided with application)


Ø  Funding is limited so please apply early to avoid disappointment

Ø  All claims are subject to assessment and approval by Maranoa Regional Council

Ø  Applicants must reside within the Maranoa Regional Council area

Ø  All vouchers and bill payments must be redeemed by 30 November 2017

Ø  Vouchers may only be redeemed at the stores listed

Ø  Eligible bills in Option 2 include, but are not limited to, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance, farm insurance, accountants’ fees, machinery repairs, grocery store accounts, and training.  Residents are encouraged to talk to Council (Grants Officer) if their bill does not fit under these headings to see if it is eligible for claim.

Foundations Care – Foster and Kinship Agency

Foundations Care

Foundations Care is a  Foster and Kinship Care Agency, supporting foster and kinship carers and assisting them to care for the children in their care. We provide a monthly home visit and frequent other contact as needed throughout the rest of the month. We also have a 24 hour support line available to carer’s and we offer regular training and peer mentoring to those who may be facing some challenges and need a listening ear from someone who has travelled the same journey.
