MensLine Australia is a telephone and online counselling service for men with family and relationship concerns. 24 hours / 7 days a week.

The Queensland Sexual Assault Line offers elephone support and counselling to anyone – women, men and young people – who has been sexually assaulted or abused and for anyone who is concerned or suspects someone they care about might have been assaulted or abused.

DVConnect Womensline is the only state wide telephone service offering women who are experiencing domestic or family violence 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Free, professional and non-judgemental telephone support to you, wherever you live in Queensland. Calls to 1800 811 811 are free from any public phone.

Practical assistance such as counselling, intervention, transport and emergency accommodation for Queensland women and their children who are in danger from a violent partner or family member.

New Access – Lifeline Darling Downs – Beyond Blue

NewAccess is a service designed by Beyond Blue that provides free and confidential support to help you tackle day-to-day pressures. A NewAccess coach who is specially trained and experienced will support you in setting practical goals to help get you back on track.

If any of the following are causing you to feel unhappy, moody, angry or unable to concentrate or sleep this service could be right for you:

  • Work stress or uncertainty
  • Change in living arrangements
  • New parent worries
  • Family problems
  • Health concerns or uncertainty
  • Long-term isolation or loneliness
  • Financial worries

The NewAccess service includes six free sessions with locally based coaches in Roma & Charleville. At your first appointment, your coach will complete an initial assessment and develop a program with you tailored to your individual needs.

Royal Flying Doctor Serivce – Drought Wellbeing Service

Since April 2015, RFDS (Queensland Section) has been leading the Drought Wellbeing Service across Queensland. This program offers counselling and support to people living and working in areas impacted by drought. Through the Drought Wellbeing Service, qualified Mental Health Clinicians work alongside existing RFDS Clinicians and attend established RFDS primary health care clinics. Mental Health Clinicians are also available via telehealth or outreach sessions providing strategies that can help in tough times, or an ear to listen to wellbeing concerns.

Our Mental Health Clinicians are specifically trained to help people with a range of health and wellbeing issues including:

  • Sleep difficulties
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Grief and Loss
  • Relationship issues
  • Self esteem
  • Stress management
  • Work-related issues
  • Building resilience through change
  • Links to appropriate support within the community

Our Services

We can offer:

  • Individual counselling sessions
  • Talks, presentations and training
  • Pit Stop Health Checks

DWS services are free of charge, and referrals can be made by individuals, family members, GP’s or community support agencies.

Act for Kids

Act for Kids intensive Family Support program is a free service that helps families under pressure.

We can assist with many issues which some are:

  • Addressing issues such as domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse.
  • Developing stronger life skills such as setting routines, budgets and managing the household
  • Parenting support and strategies to build positive family relationships
  • Managing stress to copy with daily pressures
  • Providing child health and well-being resources
  • Linking into services that support your child development
  • Connecting you with local services, playgroups and other social networks
  • Supporting families with their cultural needs
