
Maranoa Regional Council’s encourages residents to become involved in the upcoming 2026 Winter Blanket Appeal, which aims to provide additional support to community members in need during the cooler months.
Residents are welcomed to donate new or preloved, clean blankets from this Friday, 1 May to Friday, 29 May at the following customer service centres located across the region: Roma, Surat, Mitchell, Injune, Wallumbilla and Yuleba.

Service providers are also invited to nominate individuals and families in need of a blanket (including children) until Friday, 29 May.

“The Winter Blanket Appeal is an annual project and every year it reinforces the special community spirit of the Maranoa, with people coming together to help those in need,” Mayor Wendy Taylor said.
Council would like to thank the supporters for this initiative, Queensland Government, GR Production Services, Cleanaway and Drug ARM.
The blankets will be distributed in early June, with more information to be released in due course.
