Volunteering Queensland is pleased to bring the 2026 Queensland Volunteering Conference experience to Roma, with a Satellite Event proudly delivered in partnership with Maranoa Regional Council.
The Roma Satellite Event provides a valuable opportunity for local volunteers, community organisations and people involved in supporting volunteers to connect, learn and share ideas without having to travel to Brisbane.
Across the two-day event, attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Learn new ideas and practical approaches to attracting, supporting and retaining volunteers.
- Explore current trends and challenges impacting volunteering and how communities can respond.
- Hear from volunteering experts and community leaders and gain insights that can be applied locally.
- Connect with other volunteers and community organisations to share experiences, ideas and solutions.
- Build local volunteering networks and strengthen collaboration across the Maranoa.
- Be inspired by what other communities are doing and discover new ways to grow and support volunteering locally.
- Take part in discussions and shared learning around the future of volunteering in Queensland.
The Satellite Events are designed to be accessible, community-led and locally relevant, creating a space for regional communities to connect with the broader Queensland volunteering sector while focusing on the opportunities and challenges experienced in their own communities.

Tickets for the two-day event are normally $38 per person, however, thanks to generous grant funding from Queensland Gives, tickets for the Roma Satellite Event are fully funded and FREE for attendees.
Simply register for the event and the ticket price will automatically reduce to $0 at checkout.
Whether you are a long-term volunteer, part of a community organisation, responsible for coordinating volunteers, or simply interested in strengthening volunteering in our region, this is a great opportunity to learn, connect and take away practical ideas to support volunteering in the Maranoa.
