Flexible Financial Hardship Support – Maranoa Regional Council

Maranoa Regional Council has received funding from the Queensland Government’s Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services to provide support to residents affected by drought within the Maranoa region. Part of this funding is to provide opportunities for social interaction, and another portion is for Flexible Financial Hardship.

Flexible Financial Hardship Support funding of up to $500 per household is available for drought affected community members.  Residents are encouraged to apply by submitting the form and providing supporting documentation as required.  Note: a copy of a rates notice is required to confirm residency in the Maranoa local government region.

There are two options for receiving the assistance:

Option 1: $500 in $50 vouchers to be used at selected stores in the Maranoa region

Option 2: Financial assistance up to $500 with a specific bill/account (bill to be provided with application)

Ø  Funding is limited so please apply early to avoid disappointment

Ø  All claims are subject to assessment and approval by Maranoa Regional Council

Ø  Applicants must reside within the Maranoa Regional Council area

Ø  All vouchers and bill payments must be redeemed by 30 November 2018

Ø  Vouchers may only be redeemed at the stores listed

Ø  Eligible bills in Option 2 include, but are not limited to, vehicle registration, vehicle insurance, farm insurance, accountants’ fees, machinery repairs, grocery store accounts, and training.  Residents are encouraged to talk to Council (Grants Officer) if their bill does not fit under these headings to see if it is eligible for claim.
