The Annual Maranoa Business Awards celebrates local business excellence within our region.

As the region’s only comprehensive and prestigious awards scheme, the awards offer specific and meaningful benefits to the Maranoa business community and recognise achievements over a variety of categories.

Primarily a vehicle to recognise local businesses, the Maranoa Business Awards have been developed to encompass a category for almost every type of business enterprise.  The Awards seek to contribute to the self-image and identity of Maranoa business and to foster pride in our business community. They also seek to improve the outside perception of Maranoa business and recognise leading businesses with a view to encouraging others to improve.

Successful free digital training workshops have already been held in 3 locations with Liz Ward from Tourism Tribe and we have 2 remaining locations in:
Roma: 21st May
Theodore: 24th May 

Liz has over 20 years experience specialising in IT for travel and tourism. As a committed facilitator and advocate for innovation and sustainable business growth; her successful career has played a pivotal role in establishing travel destinations in the online market place.

The aim of these workshops is to help build your business online!

  • Choosing the right content for the right purpose
  • Understanding social media platforms
  • Planning your online strategy and integrating social media
  • Understanding and developing social media content
  • Working with images and other visual content
  • Understanding data produced by social media platforms

  • Production of newsletter incorporating issues relevant to business, with a focus on local economic impacts and good news stories

  • Participation in industry engagement activities, Commerce Roma meetings, events and community activities.

  • Business and Industry monthly newsletter

  • Development of a viable business concept and model

  • Representation of the younger generation at Chamber meetings

  • Development of strategic plan for engagement of the younger generation
